Protein meals and some mineral constituents contain acceptable levels of copper. When utilizing Vita Ferm sheep products as a vitamin supplement, all food sources should be tested for both copper and molybdenum. The total copper intake and the copper to molybdenum ratio should be calculated prior to feeding a supplement or feed to sheep. The ideal copper to molybdenum ratio should be between 6 to 10 parts copper to 1 part molybdenum. Do not utilize Vita Ferm sheep vitamin/mineral supplement until these calculations are performed and evaluated by a livestock nutritionist or veterinarian.
NOTE: Some breeds of sheep and some individuals within a breed of sheep are extremely sensitive to any level of copper in feed, pasture or supplements.
