Lactation Program
BioZyme has done extensive research on the use of Amaferm for lactating cows. Over 12 university published research trials have proven that feeding Amaferm to milk cows yields an average of 3.6 pounds of milk per head per day. Depending on the price of milk, that is a return on investment of around 9 to 1. Amaferm has a higher proven milk increase and return on investment than yeast or probiotic products that are similar.
Recent field trials have shown improvements in butterfat as well. With increasing feed costs, the importance of utilization of forages is more critical than ever. Amaferm has proven to significantly improve ADF (acid detergent fiber) and NDF (neutral detergent fiber) digestion and increase feed intake. Allowing for the use of more forages in the diet and less grain leads to saving more money. Amaferm has been shown to increase microbial protein and protein digestion providing more natural by-pass protein by the cow. This allows the producer to better use protein in the ration providing an economical return.

Replacement Heifer Program
Raising dairy heifers properly is an important part of any dairy operation. University published research on Amaferm has shown improvement in both fiber digestion and rate of gain on dairy heifers. Amaferm increases microbial protein giving the growing heifer some additional by-pass protein and improving the use of the current protein it is being fed. Amaferm has been shown to improve dry matter intake. Getting the dairy heifer to consume more forage, whether grass hay or silage, will allow for maximum growth potential while maintaining proper body condition. Therefore, the heifer will be able to be bred and calve within 24 months. BioZyme offers a variety of VitaFerm mineral/vitamin premixes that can be fed free choice or mixed into grain mix.

Calf Program
Feeding baby calves can be hard. Turning a non-ruminant calf into a functioning ruminant animal requires a sound nutritional program. University research at Kansas State University has found that by including Amaferm in the dairy calf grain mix, dairy calves were able to gain faster and improve feed to gain ratios. By achieving better gains using Amaferm, the dairy calves were able to wean off of milk replacer 10 days earlier than calves not on Amaferm. Amaferm is an all-natural supplement for the dairy calves.
